SourcePoint Cancels Group Programs, Closes Enrichment Center

PRESS RELEASE—Following the recommendations of the Ohio Department of Health, Gov. Mike DeWine, and Health Commissioner Shelia Hiddleson, SourcePoint is implementing the following changes beginning Saturday, March 14 until Monday, April 27:

  • The Cheshire Road enrichment center is closed and all group programs suspended, including SourcePoint’s five community cafes in Delaware, Ashley, and Sunbury.
  • Foot care, Medicare counseling, caregiver support, and information and referral will continue as scheduled at both Cheshire and the Polaris office, with additional precautions taken to protect individuals. SourcePoint is open only to guests with appointments; it is otherwise closed to the public.
  • The delivery of in-home care services will continue, including Meals on Wheels, with additional precautions taken.

“We’ve had to make some difficult, but important decisions this week,” said Fara Waugh, SourcePoint’s executive director. “The health and well-being of those we serve, as well as our dedicated volunteers and staff, is our top priority. As an organization that serves older adults, a population at higher risk for the coronavirus, it is vital that we take a proactive approach.”

The COVID-19 situation changes rapidly, and SourcePoint will continue to monitor and adjust as needed. For the latest updates, go to MySourcePoint.org/COVID19.
